NO GPS: WE TRACK YOUR STEPS, NOT YOU. The AWTY engine is a revolutionary improvement in mobile movement apps. Most apps use your GPS to determine how far you’ve gone — which means they also track where you’ve gone. We use motion sensors instead so your location data stays on your device, not in our database. We don’t know where you are because we really don’t care and besides, it’s none of our beeswax.

BETTER BATTERY LIFE: GPS is a radio so when it’s on, it takes a lot of power, draining your battery. We don’t access your power-hungry GPS. Also, much of the data for Games Afoot resides on your phone, minimizing data usage and power drain. The AWTY engine records your progress in the background, so you don’t have to keep the screen on, futher reducing power usage — just walk and listen.

WE PROTECT YOUR HEALTH DATA. Your health is your business, not ours. The AWTY engine only uses your Health app to track steps and calculate step averages, nothing else. We do not access, weight, diet or health stats at all. We just count steps. That’s it. So your private health information stays private.

GOOGLE HAS MADE US A PARTNER. We were picked to be part of the Google Cloud for Startups program because they think what we’re doing is pretty cool.
